Program:
Looking for a memorable fall learning experience or an end of the year reward? An Overnight Farm Experience at Marmon Valley Farm might be perfect for your class. Trips can be as short as an one night or stay for several days. Our desire is to help you construct an overnight educational experience that meets your group’s needs. This program is best suited for grades three through eighth. Choose one of the following three core curriculums and select the electives that are right for your class.

Early Ohio’s Pioneer History
Students participate in three hands-on Ohio history classes:
Frontier Cooking: Prepare pioneer era food over an open fire.
Candle Dipping: Each student dips a candle and learns about other regular chores of the day.
Pioneer Tools: Students will work on two projects with period tools.

Community Building/Team Building
Facilitators will guide classes through two hours of low ropes and group initiatives team building exercises emphasizing personal character development and group dynamics.

Farm Animal Science
Experience 3 interactive courses in farm animal science. Classes include:
The Horse: An interactive large animal study of the basic horse care, characteristics, nutrition and health.
Small Animal Studies: Tour the small animal facilities and learn hands-on about animal care and stewardship.
From Farm to Food: The food we consume originated on the farm in some form. Trace the relationship between farming and food products. Then, experiment with a tasty lab experience.

Packages:
One night trips will receive their core curriculum classes, three consecutive meals, lodging, a hayride and campfire and up to three electives depending on length of class. (See options on back).
