We are asking college age adults and a few
exceptional high school student to commit to serving at camp
for eleven weeks during the summer. The first two weeks,
usually beginning the first week of June, are designed to
prepare staff to confidently handle the responsibilities of
their job. This training period includes a horsemanship
clinic the first week and a review of camp policies and
procedures in a hands-on format during the second week.
Horse experience is not necessary to apply
for a position; but be willing to learn upon arrival. We are
looking for mature individuals, age 17 or older, who have a
heart for the Lord and a desire to work with youth in a camp
setting. The horses are the greatest attraction for many
campers! Certified under the Association of Horsemanship
Safety and Education (CHA) we offer an exciting and safe
horse program for boys and girls of all ages. Every morning
is divided into four sessions: Grooming & Saddling, Arena
Riding, Trail Riding and Theory taught with a good mixture of
fun and education by trained instructors.
Together with their counselors, each cabin
group signs up for a variety of exciting and challenging
afternoon activities including: archery, crafts, the
challenge course, animal care, vaulting, and swimming in our
1½ acre lake! Campers also enjoy building a first hand
relationship with the Lord as they participate in daily Bible
studies and devotions.
Each evening includes an all camp activity
such as a hayride, camp fires, games and one of Wrangler
Matt's famous barn dances! Plus each week has a special event
on Thursdays to add to the fun.
Our staff is what makes our camp great. As
a counselor, instructor or friend, you have the opportunity
encourage young people to live for the Lord. Your friendship
and your example will speak more powerfully then words. |
